One More Bus Stop Chair

Here's another of those Ercol chairs from the dump, this time left at the bus stop on the A40 at Dryslwyn, a busy bus stop with nowhere to sit.

I painted it bright pink with leftover paint from my daughter's bedroom. I had real trouble finding a fabric to match so asked my wife (artist Julie Ann Sheridan) what colours would match it, she reckoned grey or green. Hey Presto, in the scraps box I found this 1980's fluffy draylon and I think you'll agree she was right.

The pink is very similar to Wyndham Lewis's Blast Magazine so as a reference to his time as a bombardier I added a rather scared-looking Tommy figure.

As ever the tag reads 'Take the weight off your feet'.
